The
TA-1875 voltage converter can be used only for ungrounded appliances
(2 pins on the plug) and only with "electric" (never
"electronic") appliances, that is, appliances that are used
for heating purposes only and/or use "universal" motors
(some curling irons, most hair dryers, steam inhalers, bottle
warmers, irons, etc). This voltage converter is not
designed for "continuous duty", should be used for short
periods of time (45 minutes to one hour maximum), and must always
be unplugged from the wall when not in use. Step
down transformers and step up / step down transformers
don't have the limitations that these voltage converters have.
With
this voltage converter you can switch between two wattage ranges by
moving a slide switch from 0-25 watts or 26-1875 watts. WARNING!
Always set switch to appropriate wattage for the appliance you are
using before plugging into the wall outlet.
